Did We Say Summer? We Meant September

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

A game I was hot for a year or two ago was Anima, Beyond Fantasy. I’d played the card game, and I’ve picked up some of the mini, and the art looked great. They’ve pushed the release date back (again) from this Summer to September . I hope they don’t pull what Palladium did by releasing the book, only to follow it up with a Special Edition right after that.

Well, better to let the date slip than release a crap product

Rifter 43 - The Swimsuit Issue?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

My copy of Rifter #43 arrived on Saturday (complain and you will received). It’s the swimsuit issue. Some of the art is good. There are some re-published Larry Elmore works as well (my apologizes if it’s new).

Where’s My Rifter???

Friday, August 1st, 2008

On July 15th, Rifter #43 supposedly shipped from Palladium Books. I have not received my copy yet. I have seen it at my “local” game store. Well, at least I got my free copy of Splicer.

Happy 4th (Edition)

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Want to wish someone a happy 4th (edition)? Steve Jackson Games is selling “Happy 4ed” greeting card, that you can also play in Munchkin. Let your players know if you’re moving to fourth immediately, thinking about it, will never touch 4th, or continue playing your 4th edition game.

GSL Finally Available

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Wizards of the Coast has released the Game System License (GSL), their new version of their open gaming license. You can read the license and download the System Reference Document here. You’ll still need a copy of the core books to use the system, since the SRD doesn’t include rules, just references.

Now I can create the Woolietaurs (half man/half sheep).

Love The One You’re With!

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

We’ve been through four editions of D&D now, and the only half races that we’ve had the options of playing were half-elf and half-orc? What, dwarves are good enough to fight along side of, but not to marry your daughter? Pelor forbid that your son bring home a halfling girlfriend! Humans are too good for gnomes, but not above orcs? Okay, now they’ve gone and shoved those kids in the closet now too! While we’re at it, why can’t a gnome marry a dwarf, or an elf for that matter?

Come on guys, it’s time that we break down some of these barriers, and let people be free to love!

Quick Review - wizards.com

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

I’m still prepping for my game tomorrow. All I gotta say is the navigation on the WotC D&D site is a pain. Finding stuff on a website shouldn’t be some sort of skill challenge…

More D&D from Tony

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Tony DiTerlizzi, the man who made Planescape a must buy for me, posted more Dungeons & Dragons related works this weekend. On Saturday, it was a Tiefling, and Sunday he went Gith. I think if WotC was to re-release Fiend Folio, they should use Tony’s rendition of the cover (and include his version of the Kenku as well).

For fans of roleplaying game artists, his blog should be on your daily feed.

D&D 4ed Now Out, and Amazon is down?

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Well, I’ve just received confirmation that my copy of 4th edition has been shipped, and I can expect it on the 10th. In other news, Amazon is currently unavailable. Are there that many people who pre-ordered 4th edition from Amazon to bring it to it’s knees? Or just a random coincidence?

When I was your age, orcs had pig-faces!

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Back when I started playing D&D, orcs had pig snouts! Otherworld Miniatures has a line of pig-face orc miniatures. Unfortunately, they’re located in the UK, and all the prices in euros, and the shipping will probably be costly. Still, they’re nice looking miniatures.
